My Lack of Updates

Playtime

Years ago some friends and I entered the Dallas 24-Hour Video Race. They give you a topic, a line of dialogue, a location, etc. and then you have to make a short film of five minutes or less within 24 hours.

It was sponsored by Red Bull. That was the first and last time I drank that stuff.

Anyway, this was what we came up with.

Stuart

“Stuart” by the Dead Milkmen

Please note that the homophobia expressed in the song is purely satirical.

Socks

Hey, the way I figure it, if it’s laundry day, you might as well have some fun with it.

In retrospect, I can’t believe I actually had to encourage one of my dogs to run away with one of my socks. I guess the little dork finally growed up.

Cheesecake Truck

Time for another early ‘90s goofy storytelling music video.

In the event you think what I did was unsafe: I started recording when the car was stopped, and I stopped recording when the car was stopped. And I sing in the car all the time; don’t you?

It's Friday, and This is Ponderous

I thought it would be fun to do a Bryan version of those mostly useless webcam music videos that seem to be all the rage. In the Bryan version, there is movement, and scenery, and hopefully you’ll agree, accurate lip synching. Also, because it’s me, you’ve probably never heard this song before, but I think it’s a classic.

For the new friends I made at UXWeek 2006

The poster by Charles Joseph Minard portrays the losses suffered by Napoleon’s army in the Russian campaign of 1812. Beginning at the Polish-Russian border, the thick band shows the size of the army at each position. The path of Napoleon’s retreat from Moscow in the bitterly cold winter is depicted by the dark lower band, which is tied to temperature and time scales.
