I have acquired much more

I have acquired much more paper in the last three days than I will ever know what to do with. And I am reasonably sure there will be much more on the way.

The bedroom really is a mess. I need to fix that.

They played “Hey Pretty” from Poe’s “Haunted” on the radio (I was listening to the radio, is that wild or what?) on the way home, except instead of Poe singing words, her brother was reading from his infinitely frustrating book. He was reading one of the better parts, though.

My new employer has a radical policy that fits in line precisely with my view of how the world should work: No Homework. They feel inclined to pay you when you’re doing work for the company, so they don’t want you doing any work at home. All companies should adopt this policy immediately. Also, schools. Seriously. A teacher is given a certain amount of time during the day to teach his students something, and if he can’t accomplish that, then he needs to change what he’s doing.

I’m re-reading the ‘Conversations with God’ books.

On the commute home today I sat at one light for – I am not exaggerating – ten minutes. I don’t have any idea what was wrong with the cars in front of me. It’s as if they all decided just not to go for a while. There was, of course, no accident.

I think I’m almost constantly dehydrated. But I hardly ever notice.

I have encountered three types of young women here in The Greater Seattle Area:

  1. Beautiful College Chicks
  2. Beautiful High School Girls
  3. Beautiful Working Women

It’s rare to find someone female who doesn’t fit in one of these categories.

I will survive. I will survive. Yeah, yeah.
