I call it the Domino Effect Effect
Most of you know me well enough by now to know that I tend not to notice things when they’re right in front of me. I’ll explain more about this later, but in the meantime…
I was driving behind a FedEx truck this morning when I noticed that it was labeled with the full name FedEx Express. “Federal Express Express?” I asked myself, “that’s redundant. Either that corporation is entirely peopled with idiots, or they think the same of us.”
But, like a good netrunner, I decided to do some research and was alarmed to find that FedEx officially changed its name from “Federal Express” to the shorter and more common “FedEx” eleven years ago.
That means that my follow-up joke about Federal Express having a worldwide network isn’t going to work, either.
Damn.
