Dear Fritz,
I was just reading over an article of yours and I noticed (what I hope is) an oversight. In the article titled Personalize Your Portal with User Controls and Custom Web Parts there’s a sentence which reads:
“For better control over the layout and appearance of the Web Part Page, you can also lay out the different zones within the .aspx file by using HTML tables.”
I’m just getting started with SharePoint 3.0, and I wanted to make sure that I’m not restricted to using tables for layout, and that I can use standards-appropriate DIV elements and position them using CSS instead. Please let me know if I’m mistaken and update your article as necessary, so that others in the future aren’t tempted to use tables for layout, thinking erroneously that their erstwhile CSS skills are useless in this regard.
Thanks in advance!
